The holiday season brings togetherness with friends and family, the opportunity to give to those in need and themed cocktails! Jello shots are a type of cocktail, and we can easily theme them. In fact, the holiday spirit can be found in this easy Santa hat jello shot recipe.
This easy Santa hat jello shot recipe makes the cutest holiday cocktails with a fun jello twist that is perfect for the holidays. Holiday parties are filled with themed Christmas food, Christmas drinks, holiday decor, cheerful music, and festive activities.
We are basically drowning in the holiday spirit during any given Christmas holiday party. We may just be invited over for a hangout, but it will turn into another holiday celebration, no matter what.
All we need is more than two people hanging out between November 1 and January 2nd. There is nothing wrong with sticking to the theme of a party for every aspect of it.
People would be upset if they showed up at a party during Christmas time, only to find generic offerings that could be found at any party during the year. These people are showing up for a festive holiday treat that gets them in the mood for the holiday season.
One easy way to get people rocking with the holiday spirit is to feed them festive Christmas jello shot recipes. Jello shots already take parties to the next level just because they aren’t expected. We all expect cocktails, wine, or even beer at parties.
No one is thinking they are about to enjoy a festive jello shot. We can surprise them and the holiday spirit within them by using Santa hat holiday jello shots. These shots are so cute and fun to drink(?) and eat(?).
Of course, this easy Santa hat jello shot recipe is best for an adults-only Christmas party or one where the adults can drink responsibly.
Easy Santa Hat Jello Shot Recipe
Making fun jello shots is not difficult. We make jello as we normally would, but we add in some alcohol to give each bite of jello a kick. The holiday magic in these jello shots is not the jello itself.
These fun Santa hat jello shots are made magical by the garnishes we put on them. Ultimately, jello shots come in many different flavors. Basically, any flavor of jello we can find at the local grocery store will get the job done.
However, we want to fit the theme of the season with these Santa hat shots. This means we want to stick with a strawberry gelatin mix. We could also do a white layer of jello if we want to get super creative with the rim of the hat.
However, using the garnish to give us that hat aesthetic is a lot easier and far less time-consuming. These shots will be a festive addition to your party and may even become one of your favorite things of this time of year.
Imagine having red colored jello with alcohol as your holiday special instead of that batch of cookies.
Sant Hat Jello Shots Ingredients
- Vodka: We can’t make this easy Santa hat jello shot recipe without some alcohol. These fun treats are for adults only. However, you can make a batch of “shots” without the alcohol for any kids who may want in on the action as well.
- Red Jello Mix: Santa’s hat is red, which is why we go with a red Jello mix. You can go with any flavor to fill your tray of jello shots. However, red works best for the aesthetic we’re going for here.
- Strawberries: The actual hat for Santa is going to be the strawberry we garnish on top of the white layer. We will want fresh strawberries as we need to cut them into the proper shape of Santa’s hat. Essentially, it is a strawberry tip of Santa’s hat.
- Cool Whip: The white layer that often adorns the bottom of Santa’s hat is going to be a simple layer of Cool Whip. Some people like to use white jello for this step. You will need to let the red layer of jello set first, and then add the white layer, allow it to set, and then garnish if you want to use white jello instead of Cool Whip. We don’t want the white mixture to turn pink.
- Whipped Cream: The top of Santa’s hat has a white tip that is often fluffy and fun. We can give that effect by using simple whipped cream. One tip is to save this part until your holiday celebrations are about to begin. Otherwise, the whipped cream may melt.
Serving Santa Hat Jello Shots
One of the best parts of making this easy Santa hat jello shot recipe is serving them up to guests. People will be seeing these things for the first time and will definitely think they are too adorable to eat.
Jello shots are made the same way we make jello, hot water, jello mix, and a cup of vodka. These simple ingredients come together to make possibly the best Christmas party food for your next Christmas party.
However, that hot water means we may not be able to pour it directly into plastic cups. Instead, we may want to use glass shot cups or allow the jello mic to cool before we pour them into the plastic shot cups.
The shots can then be put directly into the fridge to become jello. Add them to a serving tray with candy canes and a fresh strawberry or two to create a cute aesthetic at your next holiday party.
