You also want to make the jello shots a day or two before your event. The worst thing that can happen is that they don’t set in time. Give them time to set properly. This also means you will want to make sure you have fridge space available for these molds before you get started.

The last and most important tip is not to shy away from using good alcohol. Sure, the jello will overpower the flavor of the alcohol, but this is in honor of the Irish; we simply can’t skimp here.

Shamrock Jello Shot Ingredients

  • Lemon Lime Soda – Here is where the flavoring starts. Lemon lime soda, any kind, will help add flavor.
  • Lemonade Concentrate – The lemonade concentrate adds a ton of lemonade flavor, not much else. You can also change this to a different fruit concentrate if you’d like.

  • Water – We need the water to activate the gelatin. And no, we can’t use just alcohol to activate the gelatin.
  • Green Jello – We want full control over the flavor of the jello shots. Using unflavored green gelatin helps to that end.

  • Midori Melon Liqueur – Here is where the magic happens. The soda and fruit concentrate add a lot of flavor, but this wraps the flavor in a delicious bow.
  • Vodka – You can absolutely use the well vodka or go above and beyond and use something a bit fancier.
  • Optional Sprinkles – Shamrock sprinkles add themes to the jello shots, but are not mandatory.
