Losing weight isn’t easy especially when you’re busy and don’t have time to keep a set diet. The best thing for a mom on the go is a quick snack, something you can throw together and eat in the car. Naturally, not all snacks are created equal, and almost none are created with weight loss in mind. We have to get creative here and find our own snacks for weight loss. Luckily, we don’t have to foster our own creativity; we can take it from others and share it with friends.
Healthy food choices are key for weight loss and a healthy lifestyle. Keep these snacks for weight loss on hand to help!
Hard-boiled eggs and Sriracha sauce
Did you know that Sriracha sauce has a compound that is found in chili peppers? The chili pepper compound actually helps to burn calories! Yea, it’s a thing, and a great way to spice up a plain hard-boiled egg!
Lose the salt and add some more nutritional yeast and you’ve got a delicious take on popcorn that is good for you.
Peanut butter is a snack that you can eat on celery (water), crackers, wheat bread, or by itself. AND peanut butter is filled with protein which will help you build muscle, stay full longer, and it has lots of healthy fats and oils!
Melon and Balsamic Vinegar
Looking for a way to eat less and feel full? Try watermelon with balsamic vinegar. One cup of melon is about 90 percent water. With such a high water content it’s no wonder you can eat as much as you want and not have to worry about weight.
Zucchini chips are a great snack for losing weight since they boost your metabolism. The problem is, they have almost no flavor. Sprinkle with paprika to help add some low cal flavor!
One of the best ways to lose weight is to stop gaining weight, crazy idea huh? Seaweed has alginate which is a fiber that can help reduce the amount of fat that sticks in your body.
Chocolate Chips and Peanuts
If you need something sweet, and not that fake sweet from fruit or “100 calorie snacks”, eat sweet. Just use moderation and mixtures to keep from going overboard. Mix 1 Tbsp of chocolate chips with ½ oz of peanuts and you’ll be good to go. A great dash of sweetness and lots of healthy protein!
Oatmeal has a ton of fiber and requires a bit more time to digest. The time it takes to digest allows you to feel fuller longer. Take 1 cup of dry quick oats, ⅔ cup coconut flakes, ½ cup almond butter, ½ cups whole chia seeds, ½ cup dark chocolate chips, ⅓ cup raw honey, and 1 tsp vanilla. Mix all the ingredients together and you’ve got one of the great snacks for weight loss.
Greek Yogurt with Berries
Almost every diet I’ve tried has included Greek yogurt in the mix. Since it’s in almost every diet, Greek yogurt must be great for you right?! It can get a bit plain at times though, add some fresh or frozen berries for color and flavor.
Canned Salmon on Wasa Crackers
Seafood isn’t for everyone but another sea bearing option is fish! There are plenty of nutritious aspects to fish. Open a can of tuna or salmon and spread it on a cracker for a delicious and healthy snack.
