Champagne Jello Shots Recipe Perfect for Parties
New Year’s Eve is a celebration of time transforming from one year to the next. We can encapsulate that idea in jello shots. This Champagne jello shots recipe transforms alcohol from a drink to a gelatin snack.
This champagne jello shots recipe is a better way to enjoy a midnight toast at a New Year’s Eve party with friends and family. Regular jello shots are made with a combination of either flavored or unflavored gelatin and vodka.
Fun jello shots are often used for lively parties like a bachelorette party or, let’s face it, college parties. However, New Years Eve is a classy event that requires a classy cocktail recipe like classy jello shots.
In fact, we can use these jello shots for any occasion that we want to step up, from New Year’s Eve to a birthday party. The perfect way to jello shots for a special occasion like this is to use champagne instead.
Champagne jell-o shots use the bottle of champagne we already have on hand, but it steps up the plastic jello shot cups, making them the very best way to enjoy a bit of champagne.
An easy champagne jello shots recipe can even be customized a bit to make them even more festive. After all, we want festive jello shots to celebrate this very special time.
We can even use flavored jello to make things like pink champagne jello shots or add edible gold leaf or gold sprinkles to fancy them up a bit. Pick out your favorite jello mixture and break out the edible glitter; it’s time to turn those plastic shot glasses into something everyone can enjoy.
Champagne Jello Shots Recipe Ingredients
- Champagne: Everything starts with champagne. We don’t need to be too particular here. There is no need to go all out with a fancy champagne label. Of course, we don’t want to serve up the cheapest stuff on a special occasion. Side note: sparkling wine works as well.
- Lemon Juice: We will be using unflavored gelatin, so there won’t be a strong flavor. We add fresh lemon juice to help with the flavor and calm the sugars down in the champagne. We can use any juice, though we highly recommend a juice with some acidity—ginger beer, lime juice, or maybe cranberry juice.
- Unflavored Gelatin: Using your favorite gelatin mixture can work as well. However, we are getting flavor from fruit juice instead of the gelatin. Feel free to replace the unflavored gelatin with any jello you like; omit the juice.
- Edible Pearl Dust: Adding a garnish to your jello shots is fun. We can garnish things to make them fit the theme of the party. Gold stars, sprinkles, edible glitter, and even freshly sliced fruit can enhance these shots.

Once fully set, cut into squares. Add more edible pearl dust for extra shimmer.
