There are only a few things that I consider myself to be a fan of but only one thing that I am an absolute fanatic about; Disney. Disney inspires me in many different ways and has helped shape the way I see things. One of the ways Disney inspires me is in my friendships. It’s easy to find Disney quotes about friendship in everything they do. From books to movies, songs to theme park rides, the inspiration is everywhere.
Disney is a big part of my life. As I type this at my desk I’m looking at my light up Mickey ears, my 60th Anniversary Mickey and Minnie figure set (thanks, Amy!), and my Mickey Balloon popcorn bucket. All of that is just what’s in eye shot right now. Disney has influenced my life through movies, songs, tv shows, books, theme parks, and so much more. The inspiration sprinkled throughout all of the Disney franchises fosters imagination, creativity, dreams, kindness, acceptance, responsibility, family, and friendship. There are many Disney quotes about friendship that remain true to my life, even now at 28 years young.
“When I look at you, I can feel it. I look at you, and I’m home.” -Finding Nemo
Just reading this quote, knowing the weight of it, makes me tear up a bit. Yes, I tear up at Pixar movies and I don’t care who knows it!
“Every Minute Spent in your company becomes the new greatest minute of my life.” -Bolt
Bolt wasn’t one of the most popular Disney movies of the last decade, but that doesn’t mean that there weren’t any sprinkles of knowledge tucked away inside. Bolt shows all of us how to be great.
“Some people are worth melting for.” -Frozen
We all know the lyrics to ‘Let it Go” and “Do You Want to Build a Snowman?” but what about one of the most obvious lessons of the entire movie?
“I’ll miss you when I wake up.” -Alice in Wonderland
Alice in Wonderland is one of my all-time favorite Disney movies. Think about it, a girl who escapes into her dream and imagination to learn more about the life she’s left behind. Or was it real the whole time? It’s such a crazy and fun story that still holds so much truth for our lives.
“When you’re the best of friends having so much fun together, you’re not even aware you’re such a funny pair.” -The Fox and the Hound
Some of the older Disney movies are lacking the special effects of the modern productions but they can still hit ya right in the feels. Fox and the Hound is all about friendship triumphing over all else, what could be better?
“How lucky am I to have something that makes saying goodbye so hard.” -Winnie The Pooh
Winnie the Pooh loves his honey but he also loves his friends. He teaches us all how to be a better friend.
“I wouldn’t have nothin’ if I didn’t have you.” -Monster’s Inc.
Many of us have plenty of friends. But there are only a couple that count as friends who make such a big impact in our lives.
“Good friends will help you until you’re unstuck.” -Winnie The Pooh
This quote reminds me of a different, non-Disney quote about calling a good friend when arrested vs. the friend sitting next to you at the police station. Not exactly the best of circumstances but still true.
“And as the years go by, our friendship will never die. You’re gonna see it’s our destiny. You’ve got a friend in me.” -Toy Story
No matter how far away a friend lives or how often you talk, friendship never dies.
“My dream wouldn’t be complete without you in it.” -The Princess and The Frog
A real friend will not only tell you when you’re right but also when you’re are wrong. Those friends who do both help you achieve your dreams through the different trials it takes to get there.
